Physical and mental well-being from exercise

It has been studied that exercise has various effects on both physical and mental well-being. Mood improves, thoughts sharpen, and even sleep improves when one exercises regularly. On these pages, you will find basic information about the well-being effects of exercise as well as tips for staying active.

  • Increases dopamine levels, which in turn affects mood and concentration

  • Additionally, regular exercise may also speed up thinking! 
Exercise tips

“Jumppakamu” offers diverse exercise opportunities; exercise breaks, body maintenance, relaxation, and even music moments. The planning and implementation of the exercise content are managed by Vesiliikuntakeskus Kaukavesi, KAMK, and Lapland University of Applied Sciences’ sports instructor students, sports planners, and the “Älyllä Aktiiviseksi” – Higher Education Sports Project in collaboration with the city of Kajaani.

Wellbeing instructor

The wellbeing instructor helps and advises in matters related to starting exercise, overall physical well-being, and stamina.

Meetings can be done remotely or in person in Kemi, Tornio, and Rovaniemi.
